Personally, I want some stuff from their later days. I would like to hear the show in Witchata Falls, TX in '83 (That's my hometown!) and I'd like their last U.S Festival appearence. Some stuff from the Clash "MK II," out of curiosity. The Bonds stuff would be cool as well.

Honestly, I'm not that picky, but those above gigs would be awesome.

The best shows I ever heard [ other than those I went to ] were New York Palladium '79 & a vinyl I have entitled Cardiff ,77 although this may be a misnomer as Strummer mentions Leicester in one song but this could have been Strummer being Strummer & forgetting where the hell he was.

any clash2 material....please!!!

Was fortunate to see The Clash on the Out of Control tour in Orlando, Fl. Would love to hear something from that period.

Cut the Crap

The greatest gig i ever went to was The Clash supported by The Special aka at Barbarellas Birmingham
and would love to be able to watch it again i think it was 78 or 79.

Cheers

As sony may already have it, since some tracks are in FHTE
09/08/82
05/19/83 wichita falls texas

And a dvd of bonds 6/9/81 would be great

But I'll buy any full show with better sound than the tapes

I just downloaded Kingston Advice (a bootleg) from http://thepiratebay.org/tor/3678773/The_Clash-Kingston_Advice-Bootleg-20... and I'll seed it if any of you guys want it. I'm also getting Going to the Disco, another bootleg, from http://thepiratebay.org/tor/3664216/The_Clash-Going_To_The_Disco-Bootleg... so once that's done I'll seed it too. At this rate, it should be done in two hours.

I'd love to see some releases from 1978-81...IMO opinion their peak years. Complete shows from 1979 or 1980 would be amazing -- if they're in the vault, I'd vote for their NYC Palladium shows from 2/17/79 and 3/7/80 -- two of the greatest Clash shows I attended. I also know the video is in the vault from the Capitol Theatre 3/8/80 -- widespread as a boot -- and there has been talk of an official release.

Just make sure:

Do NOT rehash previous releases, full and proper gig releases, if you please.

With few exceptions, focus on the Topper & Mick years i.e. the REAL Clash: May 1977 - May 1982.

Complete gigs including Intros, encores and chat/tuning-up/ad libs between songs.

Represent The Clash year by year/tour by tour/country by country.

Having chronicled this subject for the odd collector's magazine or two, I naturally have my own faves, and like anybody else, I don't want to see yet another recycling of the back catalog. Like all parlor games, this is subject to change and passing fancy, but here's what I'd suggest, year by year:

First: I'm backing everything matedog said on 2/14. That guy knows his Clash gigs, and we would be thriled to have any of those complete shows come out on disc. And I'll add this: Sony needs to start treating the Clash catalog with something a little like the care that has been shown to Bob Dylan's catalog.

Generally speaking, I'd buy anything Sony puts out that isn't a mere rehash of the greatest hits (Essential, Singles Box).

Stuff I know Sony has that I'd die to hear:
* The full 2/18/80 Lewisham show (two tracks sourced for From Here To Eternity) and any additional footage from this show
*The full 1/3/79 show (Two tracks sourced from FHTE)
*Any Bonds show, although I think Sony only has 6/9/81

I wasn't even born when The Clash visited my country,Greece so you are very lucky you had the chance to be there and watch the concert live.I wish I was there too. Were they sooo good? Please, tell more details!Surprise me too!

I really wish I'd been at these shows:

  • Victoria Park, Hackney, London, England, 30 April 1978
  • The Apollo, Glasgow, Scotland, 4 July 1978
  • Markethalle, Hamburg, West Germany, 20 May 1980
  • Bonds, New York, USA, 10 June 1981
  • Shea Stadium, New York, USA, 12 Oct 1982

But I was only a nipper at the time...

Got dates/info for some of these gigs here

I'd love to get copies of Bond's and New York Palladium.

That said, anything would be awesome.

Anywhere between Rope and London Calling.

There is a show that I would love to see or hear again: athens july 27, 1985 (their final show.)

--I wonder if there is any stuff with keith levegne, anyway I wish more live stuff would come out than the essential + . And the Clash on broadway. The stuff on you tube is pretty good. had an aunt who was at bonds, she said it was kick ass.
-death or glory

I'm with you all, I'll seriously take anything offered that hasn't been featured in any of the dvd's

I have an old bootleg of the New York Palladium show from 1979 (the show where the cover of London Calling was taken). I think it was a radio broadcast, so the sound quality is decent, but I think that it could be fixed up a bit and released (legally). Its a really good show.

I would love to see stuff from the Bond's show, it would be absolutely stellar.

Either the Harvard Square Theater show from 2/79 or the Orpheum Boston show from later in that year (just before London calling came out). Was at both and both were life-changers!

I'd like to see an official release of the Bond's shows (maybe a best of, remastered). Also the January 1979 show where the I fought the Law video was filmed. Anything from the 1979-1980 time period. If there are any good quality tapes from early Clash shows, those would be exciting as well. The later shows would be great too....... BASICALLY WE WILL TAKE ANYTHING!!! From Here to Eternity is so exceptionally good... I have been wishing for more remastered Live Clash for years. I never got to see the Clash. Anything you release would be amazing
