Train in vain is quality but is there a better album than London Calling

i think that every song of london calling... each one dependong of the situation... also complete control or their cover of i fought the law... white riot... it's difficult to choose inly one song with a band so great like this

mines is janie jones and whats my name

Lost in the Supermarket is my favourite track. I tend to agree with the majority of the posts tho, that it changes from day to day. I sometimes play a track that I haven't heard for ages and that is a favourite for a while.

Always sign of a truly innovative band - everyone has a different song/ opinion. My fave you ask? Rudie Can't Fail at the mo' as it has everything - Both Joe 'n' Mick in joyous call-and-reponse vocals, great choon/ lyric and its fantastic skank/rock 'n' roll feel was representative of the great leap forward that is/ was London Calling. And didn't THAT record make the no-hopers of the Members/ UK Subs/ Sham et al look like second division dullards?

i've always been drawn to rudie can't fail and stay free but most people seem to have hit the nail on the head because the clash moved their music on with every album they released.

now thats the sign of a great band!!!

billy-goat =:0)-

my fave... until i change my mind has to be the guns of brixton

I love all Clash songs. Depending on my day or maybe my way of thinking, I change the favourite, I mean I´m always changing the way of seeing the world, so I listen a song according to that thoughs. (there´s a clash´s song for everything!!!!)

P.D: I love the work of Topper Headon in Lost in the Supermarket, i also like the song Remote Control (Mick´s guitar) and the song Guns on the Roof.
P.D2: Train in Vain is great!!!!!!
P.D3: sorry about my english, I´m Argentinian and i´m not very good with this language.

Rock the casbah is amazing, but white riot and pretty much every track on Londons calling are amazing

Mine is Rock The Casbah, London Calling, Train In Vain and Straight To Hell

I agree, depends on the day since there is not a bad clash song and their variety speaks to the full range of emotion. But most days I would include Death or Glory, Guns of Brixton, and Straight to Hell.

Mine depends on the day , I love many of them. Today is Guns Of Brixton and Stay Free.

White Man In Hammersmith Palais of course... Train in Vain is up there too... but of course so are tonnes of others!

the magnificent seven and this is radio clash are my favorites songs

Mine's probably Should I Stay Or Should I Go, or Complete Control.

So many brilliant songs though.

Oh, or maybe it's Tommy Gun, or Safe European home..

spanish bombs -steeped in joes romanticism

London Calling is my favourite

I like Ghetto Defendant... I know it sounds like a rap song or whatever, but the lyrics are so great! c***But it's really impossible to choose just one song. they're all greatc***

White Man in Hammersmith Palais or Should I Stay Or Should I Go

“Feeling lucky punk? Oh, good.”

The real problem with a thread like this that as soon you start to think, "what truely is my favourite Clash number" you realize that there are NO crap Clash songs, I love em all! Perhaps the one song that really got my attention was "Somebody Got Murdered" s***, was it "Charlie Don't Surf" oh well as I said, no wait a minute "London Calling" is the greatest song of all time along with "Version Pardner" bloody hell I could go on the whole night.....definitely the greatest band of all time , without question!!!

gotta be complete control or clampdown or safe european home or lots of others.

Mine has to be White Man in Hammersmith Palais. The lyrics are Strummer genius & it is listenable (if thats a word) at any time in any mood. Other faves are White riot & stay free, but the list is really endless.

In my opinion, best album is LONDON CALLING with songs: London calling, hateful, Rudie can't fail, The guns of Brixton and Train in Vain. I also like I'm so bored with the U.S.A , White Riot and Should I stay or shoul I go

My personal favorite is should i stay or should i go. i really like the tempo

Changes all the time - it's Overpowered By Funk (especially the raw, instrumental version - guitars, bass and drums) at the minute, but you can't really go wrong with Complete Control or I Fought The Law...

White Man in Hammersmith Palais! Followed by Garageland, Complete Control, and alot of stuff off of Sandinista!

My favourite is Rock the Casbah, although Tommy Gun is a close second.

You guys in the UK are lucky! I've always dreamed of living in London! I love it there!

complete control, radio clash, HEAPS!!!

Mine changes, depends on the day but you can,t go wrong with Safe European home, just gets the blood pumping.

My favorite song is Broadway, oh and Stay Free and Super Market and Capitol Radio and I guess I have A LOT!

i have a version of Police and Thieves from the Rude Boy film on record, (remember those black plastic things), Its live, and probably the best they did, Joe gets carried away with his playing and Mick is awsome....give it a listen......but not while driving, you will break the speed limit!!!!!

Complete Control live off From Here to Eternity.... The single greatest recording in the history of music.

cant find one i dont consider a favorite (except maybe mensforth hill)

but recently white man in la palais's been doin it for me!!!

Mine seems to change daily, Complete Control is always up there tho.
